The Drop-In provides recreational canoeing, kayaking and rowing** opportunities for LBC members and the general public.  This Program provides all equipment (boats, paddles, life jackets) and some basic instruction for those who have never paddled before.  This is an ideal way to try different recreational boats, to go for a night out on Telford Lake to relax or brush up on paddling skills.  There is no pre-registration required, however, it is run on a first-come, first served basis.

Hours of Operation

Hours of operation commence on Monday May 30 (based on lake conditions and weather) and run Monday through Thursday each week throughout the summer. From 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. We will also be open on Saturday mornings at 9:30 to 12:00pm, and Sunday evenings, 5:30-9:00 pm except as noted below.

* Please keep in mind, the club will be closed each long weekend this spring and summer and closed on the weekend when the racecourse is installed and site is rented out for competitions. Those dates will be posted on the fence or please check with our club staff.

This Program is an introduction to Outrigger Canoe, you will learn the basics of the boat, on & off the water safety & how to paddle in a single, double & 6 person Outrigger Canoe. The Adult Learn to Outrigger Canoe Program is scheduled to be 3 – 1 hour sessions.  Dates & times by request only. This is a water sport so prepare to be a little wet!

To introduce adults to the sport of rowing in a fun, relaxed and open environment. Encouragement to continue rowing after the Learn to Row is important, competitively and/or recreationally, and both streams of rowing will be promoted equally as way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The Adult Learn to Row Program is scheduled to be six (6) – 2 hour sessions in total (2 sessions a week over a period of 3 weeks.)  Each session is run from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Telford Lake.

Adult Competitive Rowing Program

This program is designed to offer rowers who have taken the learn to row program or have experience and offer increased coaching and training opportunities to athletes to prepare them for competitions or the opportunity to just improve fitness levels and technique.

Adult Rowing – Members Only

This is available for seasoned rowers to come out and use equipment on a daily basis. Available for full members Only Monday through Thursday.

This program is an introduction for recreational canoeing and kayaking.  Participants will learn recreational canoeing and kayak strokes, boat handling and recreational water skills as well as safety on & off the water.  The Adult Learn to Paddle Program will be run on 4 weekday evenings and run at Telford Lake from 6:15 pm – 8:15 pm.
